Finix: Taking its Payment Solution International
Finix, the payments technology provider enabling businesses to accept and send payments online or in person, is intent on taking its complete solution to the masses.
Look no further than the company’s first international launch, which makes its suite of unified payment offerings available in Canada and ensures customers can create reliable, configurable omnichannel payment solutions with key embedded compliance and risk features.
The expansion comes as a result of a partnership with Peoples Trust Company, part of Peoples Group.
“Finix’s end-to-end solution enables businesses, from startups to publicly-traded companies, to process payments, send money and manage their business in today’s global, digitised landscape,” comments Richie Serna, CEO at Finix.
“We’ve talked to a number of customers and prospects who’ve had to piece together fragmented payment processing solutions across multiple providers in Canada to meet their customers’ needs. Adding to our international footprint with our Canadian expansion helps even more businesses drive revenue while streamlining operations.
“This is a step toward unifying payments technology on a global scale.”
Making the financial system more equitable
Since being founded in 2015, Finix has been rewriting the financial services industry one API at a time to lower barriers to entry, drive competition and make the financial system more equitable and accessible for people around the world.
The San Francisco-headquartered payment processor has been on a mission to make it easy for software platforms, marketplaces and individual businesses of all shapes and sizes to accept payments and send money, while maximising revenue and reducing costs.
In the process, it has earned the trust of countless startups and publicly-traded companies alike to build and scale their payments infrastructure.
Finix has, over the past nine years, raised more than US$100m from American Express Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Homebrew, Inspired Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, Visa and others.
And, in an effort to intentionally diversify its cap table, 10% of its latest funding rounds have been allocated to Black, Latino/a and other traditionally-marginalised investors, and a commitment exists to do so during future funding rounds.
Supporting payment acceptance and payouts
Finix's complete solution supports in-person and online payment acceptance and payouts at scale. It also incorporates crucial operations processes and tools including embedded compliance, comprehensive underwriting, intelligent fraud monitoring, consolidated reporting, dispute management and more.
By centralising these features into one platform, and expanding into new markets, Finix’s unified payment solution provides Canadian and multinational merchants and platforms with a comprehensive view of sales trends and transaction-level data.
Businesses can use this information to drive conversion, improve customer experiences, increase revenue opportunities and create a cohesive experience across siloed channels.
Finix is dedicated to providing customers with a single solution and is set to operate one unified experience across all major card networks in Canada: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
“The ability to send and receive payments quickly, easily and securely is a crucial part of powering an inclusive digital economy,” adds Darrell MacMullin, SVP Products and Platforms at Mastercard Canada.
“We are thrilled to work with Finix in the Canadian market to streamline multinational money movement.”
